Propecia.
Propecia (finasteride) is usually prescribed for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia or male pattern baldness – both conditions believed to be caused by the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. This drug is supposed to be taken by males only and must never be shared with females, as it may harm an unborn baby if it gets absorbed through the skin of a pregnant woman. Every tablet of Propecia is therefore specially coated, but pregnant women are not supposed to come into contact with a crushed tablet of this medicine. Mild side effects are common and can be some or any of the following: loss of interest in sex, skin rash, pain in the testicles, headache, weakness, dizziness, runny nose, and impotence. If you notice any breast lumps, pain, other breast changes, or nipple discharge, those may be the signs of male breast cancer and they will need to be reported straight to your health care provider. Make sure you take Propecia exactly as recommended. It may take up to a few months to see the first results of the treatment. You will need to take Propecia for the rest of your life to keep the hair re-grown on your head. If you stop the treatment – the hair ill be lost within a year.
